NLRB postpones effective date of rights posting rule to April 30

The National Labor Relations Board has agreed to postpone the effective date of its employee rights notice-posting rule at the request of the federal court in Washington, DC hearing a legal challenge regarding the rule. The Board’s ruling states that it has determined that postponing the effective date of the rule would facilitate the resolution of the legal challenges that have been filed with respect to the rule. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) imposed a new $2,500 limit on the contribution or election amount for health care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity announced that the Florida minimum wage will increase to $7.67 per hour effective January 1, 2012. This is an increase from Florida's current minimum wage of $7.31 per hour, which became effective June 1, 2011, in response to a Florida Circuit Court decision issued earlier this year. DOL Launches New Wage and Hour Smartphone App – Why Employers Should Be Concerned

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) launched an application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to help employees track their own work hours and independently determine the wages employers owe them. The app is available in Spanish and English and tracks regular work hours, break time and overtime for one or more employers.
