Payroll Processing or Administrative Service Organization (ASO)
ASO stands for Administrative Service Organization. Under a Payroll Processing or ASO model, the payroll taxes are filed under the tax identification numbers of the client. This is in direct contrast to the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) model where payroll taxes are filed under the PEO’s Federal Tax identification numbers and where the PEO directly assumes a level of business risk. Under the Payroll Processing model, which is the most basic level of service, the client receives their payroll processed and their payroll taxes paid by Innovative. Utilizing the ASO model allows for additional services to be added in order to access additional expertise and/or to eliminate time consuming administrative functions at the client level.
